1- What kind of information does Nomoz collects.
The Nomoz submission forms:
We only collect (or are provided) publicly known information about company/organization/individual websites. And, other personal information to in order to give members control over their submissions. This information may include:
- Site URL, site name, a description of what the website offers and the activities they are engaged in.
- The email of the person who submitted the website.
- A Password for the submitted site, to allow the submitter to edit it in the future.
- The IP address of the person who submits a website. for SPAM control purposes.
- Name of the person making contact
- Email of the person making contact
- And any information provided by the person making the contact
Information collected from users visiting Nomoz, are standard automated server log-based information that are commonly used and mostly public and not personally identifiable, for the purpose of statistics and optimization of the Directory.
Some of the information may include:
- The IP address of the visitor
- The URL of the website that referred the visitor to Nomoz.
- The Operating system, and screen resolution of visitors
2- How does Nomoz use the collected information.
Submission forms information:
- Information collected through the Nomoz site submission forms are strictly used to list websites in the directory.
- Email addresses associated with the listings are only used to communicate with the listing owner regarding their listing.
- Passwords collected are only used to give the listing owner the ability to edit their listings.
- IP addresses of site submissions are only collected to control SPAM to the directory, If we continue to receive SPAM from a certain IP address, this IP address will be banned from accessing Nomoz.
Information collected through the contact us form, will only be used to investigate any issue raised by the person making the contact, and to communicate back with this person. These information are not kept or saved in any manner after the issue has been resolved.
Visitor Information:
All the information collected from visitors who visit Nomoz are usually not personally identifiable information. Only the IP address may be considered (somewhat personal by some). All traffic information are only used for statistical purposes, and none are kept after generating a generic snap shot of the site traffic activities.
3- What types of security measures are in place to protect collected information.
- Information collected for the purpose of listing a website in a directory are kept in a secured database. This database is only accessible by the Nomoz staff, and the passwords for each of the records are encrypted inside the database.
- Information obtained through the contact us form, are only accessible by trusted Nomoz editors, and only used to investigate any issues raised by the person making contact. As soon as the issue is resolved, the information is discarded.
- Generic visitor information collected automatically by the web server, are only used to produce a snap shot of site traffic for statistics and future optimization purposes. The web server hosting this information is secured and only accessible by authorized Nomoz staff. Also, we only keep the raw traffic information for a maximum of 2 months. After which all raw traffic data is deleted.
4- What other companies are you affiliated with, and what are their privacy policies.
At the present time, Nomoz is only affiliated with 2 companies Google (for Advertisement) and Paypal (for Payment processing). Please note, that Google does not collect any information from Nomoz visitors beyond the generic and publicly available information in order to help serve the best available advertisement according to persons location etc. Also, Paypal payment system is only used to process payment for Nomoz services. Paypal does not collect any information from Nomoz that you as a member of Paypal and Nomoz do not approve and aware of. Please read those individual sites own privacy policies included below. Nomoz has made a commitment not to share any kind of personally identifiable information with any other entity outside of Nomoz. We have not shared in the past, nor will we share in the future any such information with anyone outside of Nomoz.
